After Pentecost, the Next Festival is The Day of Trumpets.
1Corinthians 12:12-30 gives us some definition about The Church Body and it's Membership. We see from the Old Testament Patterns this information refers to The Feast of Trumpets. The Trumpets were used to gather The Elders, and to announce The Feasts and Assemblies of the Congregation. The Camp of Israel was also called to war by the Trumpets. Nehemiah Chapter 8 gives us another pattern regarding Trumpets. On the 1st Day of The 7th Month The Children of Israel found The Book of The Law and gathered to hear and understand what they should do. The Leadership gave instruction and understanding. In 1Corinthians 12, we see the same pattern given to The Church. Each Member has a proper placement and activity in that body -- To grow and yield within The Body as Christ Our Head leads the membership-- and the leadership.
There are certain persons who are called into leadership in specific ways for each member. No one member is in control of all the functions - There is a proper division of gifts and responsibilities given to each one in authority.
The Book of Ephesians has a Main Theme with respect to The Feast of Trumpets- or The Relationships of The Body of Christ and it's Members. Like 1Corinthians, Ephesians follows the Feast Day Pattern....
After Trumpets, is The Day of Atonement. How does Paul present this day to The Church?
We see in 1 Corinthians Chapter 13 Paul lists several aspects of Agape Love. The Love of GOD shows a pattern and shadow of The Day of Atonement. This pattern of Love is introduced in Isaiah 58, where The LORD calls HIS People to a Fast. Fasting was a common activity done on The Day of Atonement. But GOD calls His Beloved People to a Fast of Putting Away sins, iniquities, and trespasses from The Chosen People. This will lead to giving and blessings for others we love. This love is dealt with by Paul as he comes to the Plan of Salvation presented in The Annual Feasts. We see this concept reflected in Isaiah Chapter 58, where we are called to a Fast (Jewish Day of Atonement Activity), but the Isaiah Fast is directed at the New Heart and The Love we need to help provide for those in need. Food for the body is important, but we need health for the soul and spirit of man as well. Putting Away sins, iniquities, and trespasses from The Chosen People - The People and Church of GOD as we bring our problems to HIM. In addition, the Book of Hebrews has a Central Theme of The Day of Atonement and gives us much more detail about JESUS' ongoing work in Heaven as HE removes our Fleshly or Old nature. This can be done only as each one walks in The Fullness of the Previous Feasts - every day of our lives - NOT just one day each year.... In Leviticus Chapter 16, Moses presents most of the details about The Day of Atonement. Here we see the main characters are The High Priest and The Two Goats. The High Priest is directed to Make an Atonement for The people of Israel. To cover and carry away all the past sinfulness of Israel. One Goat is Sacrificed and His Blood covers for the sins. The Second Goat is selected By The LORD to carry away all sins, trespasses and iniquities into a far away place. JESUS does both of these. The First, at Passover, and The Second in Heaven on The Day of Atonement.
We can read about JESUS’ Atonement activities in Hebrews Chapters 8, 9 and 10. But for now, let’s see how Paul shows The Church what we need for Our Atonement. We need The LOVE of GOD, which comes through The Holy Spirit.... So we need, Passover, and Pentecost before we can enjoy Atonement and GOD’s LOVE....
