Chapter 9
VI – Commandment: 6 Do Not Kill
JESUS gave HIS Life as a Sacrifice. HE fulfills every sacrifice type for Atonement.
-
To enable New Life to grow from HIS Death and to enable maturity, GOD has provided an ongoing access to HIS Throne. This opens the way for us to receive Mercy, and Reconciliation -
– Why do it this way? This is the pattern GOD set from the beginning. The Jews had been doing it for over 1,500 years. They continued to do it after the Pattern of Moses for 40 years after Jesus showed them the more perfect way. For Jew and Gentile, GOD has provided a more excellent way. Hebrews Chapter 9 follows the Pattern to prove GOD does not change HIS Heart. HE only Changes the Means to show us HIS Heart...!
9:1 The Holy Temple, described and The Work of Atonement by JESUS in Heaven, is compared to Moses’ Tent. The beautiful Temples in The O T are not mentioned but The Pattern Given to Moses is the example used.
-
Heb 9:4 ”Which had the golden censer, and the ark of the covenant overlaid round about with gold, wherein was the golden pot that had manna, and Aaron’s rod that budded, and the tables of the covenant; 5 And over it the cherubims of glory shadowing the mercyseat; of which we cannot now speak particularly.”
9:4 The Ark holding The Covenant is in The Holiest Place. 9:5 The Cherubim of Glory and The “MERCY SEAT” -
The Atonement -
9:7 into the second (holiest) entered only the High Priest (once a year) with the blood of bulls and goats (year after year.) Lev 16 describes trespasses, sins and iniquities being Atoned for. This event is not dealing with personal forgiveness but rather– for The Nation, Temple and the High Priest who represented Israel on The Day of Atonement.
9:8 “The way into The Holiest is not visible.” Shows us that Faith is required to make Connection with The Unseen GOD.... Our High Priest resides in us and on The Throne in Heaven, as being unseen with The Father in Heaven. We become connected by Faith -
Heb 9:12 ”Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. 13 For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: 14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?”
We begin to see the full position and promises of GOD’s plan for our reconciliation.
