The Parables of The Kingdom show us pictures of who we are in ourselves. The garden has weeds, rocks and thorns, yet HE deals with us as dear children, through it all....
Daniel 2, and 7 show us the Kingdoms of This world and Systems of Religious Opposition. These are still present even today in Jerusalem.... Still divided into Four parts.
Paul repeatedly warns against Jewish traditions and going back under The Law. Hebrews doesn’t seem critical of The Law, but Hebrews urges us to come to Heaven and to The Throne and Receive Mercy. The dangers and warnings in Hebrews are directed at those who might turn back in fear – rather than go on in Faith.
12:28 ”Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear: 29 For our God is a consuming fire.” KJV
We have GRACE -
Not the fleshly nation but The People of HIS choosing are Atoned for. Ongoing with JESUS always doing the cleansing, covering, reconciling and intercession!!!
Chapter 13 – Commandment 10: Do Not Covet
-
– Why does GOD encourage us to look to one another? HE wants us to know there are many bro thers with us in this battle. Though we each have a certain work and assignment, HE has the whole plan and power I HIS hands. And we are in HIS Hands.
13:4 ‘Let marriage be honored and the bed undefiled.’ Song of Songs seems to say it best, ‘Come Away MY Beloved,’ let us be ONE– The father and I are ONE....
13:8 “JESUS Christ, the same yesterday, today and forever.” We have only begun to see HIS eternal love for us.... And we come into HIS Likeness and Image, as HE has shown us The Father, we come unafraid yet with deep respect into HIS Wisdom, Power and Communion.
13:10 We have an Alter and Temple, outside the camp the bodies are burned... not made with hands, whose sacrifice is Eternal and Perfect. Come eat of ME, Come drink MY Blood. We are ONE and a Holy City -
13:12 ‘Let us offer the sacrifices of praise continually.’ GOD has broken the dividing wall. Even Solomon’s Porch was too small. The Upper Room is left behind, and The World is turned upside down....
The Eternal City has a Wall and Gates -
Yes, perhaps this is not the theme shown in Chapter 13, but the Traditions of the Jews must not limit what Hebrews so wonderfully points out to believers.…
13:20 ”Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, 21 Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is well pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.”
What a great way to end and to sum up the Theme of Hebrews.!!!
