 The above Diagram attempts to show both the Positive aspects and the Negative aspects of The Law - mostly as revealed in The N T....

 We can easily see there are some of each of –  The Positive and The Negative involved with The Law – Most of The Commandments are phrased in a Negative way – Thou shalt NOT....

But of course there must be some Positive aspects to The Law as we can see on the left above....

Even with respect to LOVE in 1Cor 13, we see the same Positive and Negative aspects – Love is NOT....

 Why does The Law seem so negative? - Because it deals with sin and the flesh. Both of which must be put away and eliminated from our Heart, Mind and Strength - as we love God.... As we love Him, we keep His Commands (Word.)

In Romans, The Law has value in several ways:

2:23-27 Law humbles our pride,       3:19-31 Works of the law or In Faith

4:13-16 Law of Seed and Chosen,    5:13&20 Law condemns the world

6:14-15 Not Under Law but Grace,  7:1-4 Law binds a marriage,

   – 5-9 We are dead to sin,               7:12-14 Law is Holy, Just, Good

   – 16+ Flesh will fall short               8:1-4 Law of Spirit gives Life

8:7 flesh is put to death,                    9:31-32 Law of works not of Faith

10:4-5 Law of Righteousness,          13:8-10 Love fulfills the Law
