 Chapter 13

X   – Commandment 10: Do Not Covet

 - Purpose: To Help us Love One Another and Desire The Best for Them

 – Why does GOD encourage us to look to one another? HE wants us to know there are many others with us in this battle. Though we each have a certain work and assignment, HE has the whole plan and power in HIS hands. And we are in HIS Hands.

13:4 ‘Let marriage be honored and the bed undefiled.’ Song of Songs seems to say it best, ‘Come Away MY Beloved,’ let us be ONE–  The father and I are ONE.... Marriage is a good example of love and sacrifice when the heart is right.

13:8 “JESUS Christ, the same yesterday, today and forever.” We have only begun to see HIS eternal love for us.... As we come into HIS Likeness and Image. As HE has shown us The Father, we come unafraid yet with deep respect into HIS Wisdom, Power and Communion.

13:10 We have an Alter and Temple, outside the camp the bodies are burned... GOD desires sacrifice not made with hands, whose sacrifice is Eternal and Perfect. Come eat of ME, Come drink MY Blood. We are ONE and a Holy City - The Bride. We each must face Salvation alone by Faith outside the church and beyond our flesh. Yet we are also joined together in Him in One Body.

13:12 ‘Let us offer the sacrifices of praise continually.’ GOD has broken the dividing wall. Even Solomon’s Porch was too small. The Upper Room is left behind, and The World is turned upside down....

The Eternal City has a Wall and Gates - the defiled and the sinners are outside. The Lake of Fire burns there . We go out into the world as HE leads us by The Spirit – without sin, shame or self to limit us.... (Yes,  perhaps this is not literally what Chapter 13 shows, but the Traditions of the Jews should not limit what Hebrews so wonderfully points out to believers....)

13:20 ”Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, 21 Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is well pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

What a great way to end and to sum up the Theme of Hebrews.!!!
