VI – Commandment: 6 Do Ont Kill

– Why did GOD do it this way ? The pattern was set long ago, when Cain and Able brought their offerings to celebrate The Harvest GOD had given to them. Each of us has received so much from GOD and our desire is to be Thankful. Tribes make offerings, we have Thanksgiving, but are we doing things the way GOD has directed us? Chapter 8 introduces us to GOD’s Pattern for Atonement.

8:10 ‘I will put MY Laws in the minds and in the hearts of Israel, that everyone will know ME from the least to the greatest, says The LORD.’ Here we begin to see the Nature of The New Contract which is brought out in Chapter 8. This New Covenant is given in 1Cor 11 to The Church, etc....
In Heb 10:16 the order is reversed to ‘on their hearts and on their minds.’ Stressing as Christians we need the New Birth and the internal work of The Holy Spirit which brings the Transformed Mind -
8:12 ‘I will be MERCIFUL to their unrighteousness, and their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. ... 13 HE says A New Covenant, the old is ready to vanish away.’ Buchanan’s Translation is often used herein for Chapters 8, 9 and 10.
