There are 2 aspects which must be considered regarding The Law:

  1. We are Not ‘Under’ The Law (we are not ‘indebted to’ or ‘under the curse of’ The Law)

Rom 6:14  For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. 6:15  What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.

1Co 9:21  To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law.

Gal 3:10  For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.

Gal 4:21  Tell me, ye that desire to be under the law, do ye not hear the law?

Gal 5:18  But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

Heb 7:11  If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron?

  2. We are Not ‘Against The Law’ ( We must not have ‘Iniquity’ be ‘lawless’)

Mat 7:23  And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.    Mat 13:41  The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;    Mat 23:28  Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.   Mat 24:12  And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.

Rom 6:19  I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.

2Th 2:7  For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.

Tit 2:14  Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

Heb 1:9  Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

Iniquity see also: Luk 13:27, Act 1:18, 3:26, 8:23, Rom 4:7, 1Cor 13:6, 2Tim 2:19, Heb 8:12, 10:17, Jam 3:6, 2Pe 2:16, Rev 18:5

The 4th Command which refers to The Sabbath, deals directly with both God and Man. For it requires rest for both master and servant. Jesus said, The Sabbath was made for man, and He stated The Son of Man is Lord of The Sabbath. God rested on The 7th Day, and Jesus rested and observed The Sabbaths - Even though most of the religious conflicts occurred during Sabbaths. (Read John 7 for example.)
