(Note the difference between Judgment and Wrath. Judgment is ongoing for Christians but Wrath is for those who reject The Family Relationship God gives to those who accept His free offer of Justification. The Anger and Wrath of God are dealt with in the book of Romans.)
Hebrews deals with ‘Atonement’ and the ongoing training and discipline that takes place everyday -
We must accept The Help and Training of The LORD, if we are to grow and come to maturity. To hear and obey is to submit to HIS LORDSHIP and listen to ‘The Father within our spirit and Live.’ Any problems we have are the result of not listening (doing it our way.) To Submit brings rest and peace. To sit at HIS Table, and rest at The Throne brings Grace and Mercy.
Heb 12:5-
‘Discipleship’ should be our daily provision.
‘Chastening’ comes if we don’t listen.
‘Scourging’ comes only if we refuse HIS advise.
God’s discipline ‘devours the adversary’ Heb 10:27 of the world, and the flesh 1Joh 2:16. Yes, there are those who do not accept salvation but that is not who we are. The Book of Hebrews is written to Believers who desire to mature in faith and to come closer to The Living GOD.
Heb 12:15 “Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;” Forgiveness is the answer -
JESUS demands it. Mat 6:12-
The Ladder of Sin (See the following Diagram) fits this section of Hebrews.
If we can only forgive, many entanglements with sin and death are broken. Otherwise, Disappointments, grow to resentments, then into bitterness ...and so on. Confusion ensnares us to fear and anger, until we find open sin and separation unto death....
