Colossians 2:18-
-
– Why should we honor HIM? We are His Family, we should Love and Respect our Father. We should desire to build up HIS Kingdom by doing as HE instructs us.
Colossians 2:18–19 18 Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, 19 And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God.
Paul seems to set out TWO Boundaries here: First, he gives Gentiles the AOK for celebrating GOD’s Holy Day Plan. Second, Paul warns against too much celebration so the flesh might be turned away from The Head which is Christ Jesus. Angelic messages or visions, nor feasting or fasting must not distort GOD’s Eternal Salvation Plan. GOD has set Jesus on The Throne and HE is The One Head of The Body.
Colossians 2:20 to 3:11 –Commandment: 6 Do not Kill
-
– Why did GOD do it this way? The pattern was set long ago, when Cain and Able were bringing their offerings to celebrate The Harvest GOD had given to them. We are set free from sin and set into The Body of The Church. Being dead to the world with Christ Who died for us.
Colossians 2:20–23 20 Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances, 21 (Touch not; taste not; handle not; 22 Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men? 23 Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh.
Colossians 3:5–6 5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: 6 For which things’ sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:

Colossians 3:11–17 11 Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all. 12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; 13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. 14 And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. 15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. 17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
