  10 Commandments in First Corinthians

 Paul often includes a commentary on The 10 Commandments as he writes his letters to the churches and First Corinthians is no exception. The Main Theme of First Corinthians is The Passover and Feast of Unleavened Bread. .…  This Booklet deals with Paul’s Commentary on The Ten Commandments:

1 and 2: There is One GOD and The LORD JESUS is HIS SON

The New Covenant often ties these Two Commandments Together. This is done to emphasize the intimacy and oneness of GOD The Father and JESUS The Son. 1Cor 1 verses 1 through 9 is the commentary but verses 3 and 4 sum up this idea: 1 Corinthians 1:3–4 3 Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. 4 I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ;

3: Use The NAME of JESUS carefully

The Commentary on The Name deals with The LORDship and authority of JESUS:

 1 Corinthians 1:10 Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

1 Corinthians 5:4 In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ,

 Paul often refers to JESUS as LORD: 1:2,3,7,8,9,10,31, 2:8,16, 3:5,20, 4:4,5,17,19, 5:4,5, 6:11,13,14,17, 7:10,12,17,22,25,32,34,35,39, 8:5,6, 9:1,2,5,14, 10:21,22,26,28, 11:11,20,23,26,27,29,32, 12:3,5, 14:21,37, 15:31,47,57,58, 16:7,10,19,22,23

4: Deals with The Sabbath of The Passover and The Feast of Unleavened Bread

1 Corinthians 5:7–8 7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: 8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

 The Passover, and The Feast of Unleavened Bread is The Main Theme of 1Corinthians. Paul lists 7 instances where The Church deals with ‘Puffed Up’ and the removal of sin. The commentary on The Passover covers all of 1 Corinthians. Please read the Web Section in ‘NT Feasts’ and The Commentary on 1Corinthians in The Section in ‘Ch and Verse.’

 Included in this section is a discussion about ‘keeping company’ 5:9, 5:11, 5:13, and ‘judging’ fellow believers in Chapter 6.

5: Honor Father and Mother

1 Corinthians 5:1 It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father’s wife.
