        Sabbath Commands, and GOD’s Salvation Plan

 In the cool of the evening, GOD came to meet with Adam and fellowship with him in The Garden of Eden. It was the Seventh Day and GOD had ceased His Creation Work....

      The First Two Chapters of Genesis reflect Three Major Themes:

1. GOD spoke and things were Created and Made - everything fit exactly according the historic events written in Genesis.

2. There were six days of Creation and The Seventh Day of Rest and Celebration.... GOD Set Time as part of His Creation.

3. There was a Plan and the Will of GOD took place. Which ended with Mankind being Created and Made from the dust as GOD breathed life into Adam....

     The Sabbath Commandment in GOD’s Word:

These Three Themes are summarized in The Sabbath Commandment in Exodus 20 and in Deu 5.  (These three concepts are often involved with The Sabbath throughout GOD’s Word....)

Thus The Sabbath sets forth more than a weekly cycle. It is involved within The Heart of GOD and in HIS design for Mankind.

– 1. Time is involved. This Commandment sets out the measuring of time. The Sabbath - pattern is anchored in The Creation and thus confirms the Authority of GOD.

The Sabbath marks the flow of Time - being apart from the Day, Month or Year, which are marked out by Creation. The Seven Days, 7 Months and Jubilee Years mark GOD’s use of time as Commanded by His Word apart from the Solar System. Yet Creation agrees with and confirms the Seventh Day, 7th Month and 7th Year cycles.

– 2. History is often reviewed when The Sabbath is dealt with.

         The Sabbath Command often deals with the history of GOD’s dealings with mankind.  The Sabbath Command reviews GOD’s Word –  respecting GOD’s activities with man–

– 3. Work and Rest are involved in GOD’s Plan and Will.

The Sabbath Command represents GOD’s 7 Part Sequence in fulfilling His Will, and His Plan. GOD is always involved but often HE sets His Plan In motion and then rests until each phase is completed. Thus we see The Old and then the New Covenant processes working slowly to completion - the circling of these processes until His Plan and Will are brought to completion. The uses of Prophecy and Commandment in action as GOD has Commanded so it will be, amen.
