The Key to Understanding Chapters 10 and 11 is found in verse 7.

John writes that this is the ‘Beginning of The 7th Trumpet.’ The final sounding of The 7th Trumpet is written in 11:15. Between these two verses are the 7th Month High Sabbath Day Celebrations.

On the 1st Day of the 7th Month - The Day of Trumpets              On the 10th Day - The Day of Atonement

On the 15th Day - The First of 7 Days of The Feast of Tabernacles          On the 22nd Day - The Last Great Day

We can see that Chapters 10 and 11 are a brief summary and conclusion to the First Half of The Little Book - or Scroll first shown to us in Chapter 5.

11:15 gives a summary statement: “15 And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.”

These two chapters briefly deal with the 4 Fall High Sabbath Days. In light of this we can better understand what is written in Chapters 10 and 11.

1– The Day of Trumpets relates to The Word of God and the power of God within His Church Body – In 10:8 thru 11 we see The Little Book and it’s effect upon histroy.

2– The Day of Atonement deals with The maturing of The Bride of Christ- In 11:7-12 and 19 we see the glory of God and His Elect - the Bride.

3– Tabernacles deals with The Rulership of Christ and Temple of God - In 11:1 thru 4, we see The Temple of God and we see the times and measurements and The 2 Witnesses - Those who in The Old Covenant were first offered the opportunity to marry The Lord, and secondly, the New Covenant Church who are called to come into relationship with The Lord.

4– The Great Day relates to judgments for the disobedient and rewards for the obedient - In 11:5 thru 6 and in 11:13 thru 18 we see the Judgments of God.

Revelation has 10 thunderings (though 3 of these are in 10:3-4 - the verses we are looking at here.) The times this word is used in Revelation are:

4:5 Where John is shown the wonderful Throne of God         6:1 When the 7 Seals are started   8:5 When the 7 Trumpet s are started 10:3-4 When John hears the 7 Thunders but is told to seal them up and not write them down.     11:19 When The 7th Angel completes sounding the 7th Trumpet    14:2 When the 144,000 Saints start to sing the new song - at the start of the 7 Angel messages.  16:18 When the 7th Angel pours out the 7th Vial upon Babylon    19:6 As The Marriage Supper of The Lamb is about to start.

As can be seen, each of the Thunders signifies a major event in Christian History. In addition, we see Mighty Angels come from Heaven to reveal the events which are about to take place on Earth. Each of these Angels sounds a loud voice. As we proceed into the Second half of Revelation, there are Two Sets of Seven Angels which announce the Seven Final Events.

Chapter 14 has 3 messenger angels and 3 harvest angels and the 7th Angel is in Chapter 15. The 7th Angel announces the 7 Vials of God’s Wrath are about to begin. Chapter 16 lists the 7 Vials and Chapters 17 thru 21 reveal the 7 Angel-Vials.... It seems that these are the 7 Thunder-Events which John was told not to reveal in 10:3-4. Yet later in 10:7 John is told “the mystery of God should be finished.”
