Revelation Chapters 10 and 11   an Introduction

A Short Review of Christian History as seen from Revelation: Chapters 6 and 7 dealt with the rise and fall of Pagan and Early Christian Rome. Chapters 8 and 9 revealed the breaking of Mid-evil Roman and Greek Christian Cultures and the Start of The Moslem Culture.

In Rev 10 there are two things which are somewhat mysterious:

 1. The ‘Little Book’ which John is told to eat:  As History unfolded during the 15th and early 16th Centuries, The Dark Ages began to recede. The collapse of Constanople in 1453 caused Bible Scholars to migrate into Europe as they escaped The Moslem Empire. At the same time, the printing press came into Europe from China. These events were transofmative. The Bible was translated by Erasmus and then many others, and the printing press enabled copies of The Bible to be distributed in many European Nations and among the common people.

This enabled many people to see the truth written in their own language. Religious forces and Government controls were opposed, and many persecutions and wars ensued. Thus The Little Book was sweet to the taste but it was also bitter during those years of Reformation....

 2. The ‘7 Thunders’ are sealed up at that time. The Sabbath and The 7 Annual Set Times were not opened to most of the Reformation Saints.... These truths were evidently too costly at that time. But 10:7 states ‘the mystery of God should be finished’ or ‘accomplished.’ This statement follows a review of The Creation Events and that ‘there should be time (delay) no longer.... And in verses 10 onward, we see The Mystery is Revealed....

So we should expect God’s Plan to be revealed in Chapter 11 and explained in the Second Half of Revelation.... And that is exactly what is revealed, as Chapters 11 thru 21 unfold the Fall Set Times.

History shows it has taken 500 years to bring The Churches to the opening of these events.... The Reformation and several Great Awakenings have elapsed. Israel is again occupied by the Jews and many wars have come and gone.... The stage seems to be set for God’s Mystery to be revealed.

The most recent 500 years of history have opened up The Reformation and have led us to the present time where we expect to see the fulfillment of Chapters 14 thru 19 in this present era....

In Revelation 11 There are 2 Witnesses and  The Temple is Measured in Days and Cubits (time and space)

If we look at Chapter 11 with an eye on history, we can see The Temple of God being The Church. For 1260 years there was darkness as The Bible was controlled by Religious Forces between 300 and 1560. Then God began to Open The Little Book once again.... The Old  Testament Witness had been written down by Moses beginning 3,500 years ago, but the truths and power of God’s Plan were partly sealed until this final time.

If we look at The Church during these 2,000 years since Jesus’ birth, we can see there is a vast difference in the maturity of – Worshiping Believers, – Common Believers and – The vast majority of Unbelievers or Gentiles.... The Bible and the bodies of every Christian has figuratively been laying in the streets of The City of God. For 2000 years, The Eternal Kingdom has not appeared. This city of Jerusalem, can be likened to the Time of Nehemiah Chapter 8, when The Word of God was discovered among the ruins of The City. This occurred during the First Day of The Seventh Month - at the start of The Fall Feast.  The People were encouraged to have joy rather than bitterness in Nehemiah 8. So we should expect to see similar thoughts and emotions in The Church as we discover The Commandments and Feast Day Plan of God.... These same conflicting emotions were felt by John in Rev 10. Christianity has suffered persecution and martyrdom for 2000 years. The Kingdom is certainly mysterious and is not yet revealed in it’s promised power and glory.
