Young Elihu kept back his comments until 32:6-9 Where he said, “The Breath  (Spirit-word) of The Almighty gives understanding”  James 1 gives the same idea. The Elders in James 5 forgive sins and hear only faults (not sins) while praying....

Elihu speaks in Job 32:7  like one of the Elders in James 5…  Elihu at times is somewhat like Enoch, who walked with God in the midst of an age of death....  “There is a spirit in man, And the breath of the Almighty gives him understanding” (Job 32:8)

Job is wise and fears God, but he does not hear from God until the 38th Chapter....

Paul asked The LORD to remove The Thorn in his flesh but it continued – to keep Paul humble 2 Cor 12:9  Paul heard directly the third time to accept adversity though it was “The Messenger of Satan to buffet me” 12:7.           In Job 38- 40, the Lord asks over seventy difficult questions

Prior to this Job had asked the hard questions, often with bitterness and complaint Now God turns the tables on Job...!!! Job 40:2,7 God shows how small Job was in relationship to God.

“I have uttered what I did not understand, Things too wonderful for me, which I did not know” (Job 42:3). When the Lord spoke out of the whirlwind He asked, “Who is this who darkens counsel by words without knowledge?” (38:2)  In hearing and seeing God, Job began to understand his true need was not just physical....

“Listen, please, and let me speak; You said, ‘I will question you, and You shall answer me.’ I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear, But now my eye sees You” Job 42:4–5 When Job sees and hears GOD in Ch 42, all the problems begin to be removed...!!!

James writes about The Patience of Job, and James writes, let patience have her perfect way.... and to count it all joy. Job had patience and at the end of his trials he could count it a blessing.

In Job 42:5, Job confesses he had only heard ‘about’ God.... Now he heard God speak, and saw Him in a real relationship, and he repented 42:6 -Job turned toward God as King Hezekiah had turned his face to the wall in repentance and was healed....

Pilot and Festus, heard about The LORD but did not contact Him and so did not repent.... Mat 18:34, Joh 18:33

Like Isa 6:5 we are humbled when we see God, as was Moses at the burning bush Exo 3 and Paul on the road to Damascus Act 9....

The Lord restored Job after he prayed for his friends as God had told him to do Job 42:8-10

The Lord admonished Eliphaz and his two friends but praised Job, and asked Job to pray for them as his friends offered up sacrifices with Job.... (They were as Job was at the first- fearing God and sacrificing to Him..) (Elihu seems to be omitted from God’s admonitions, and he is not heard from in Chapters 38 to 42, where God talks with Job.)

We are told Job was not a sinner in God’s sight.... as were Job’s 3 friends Job 42:7, and Job is told to pray for his friends. That they may be forgiven and restored from error....

NT Spiritual Warfare: 1 Peter 5:8: “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.”

2 Cor 10:4 directs us to bring every thought to Christ and cast down imaginations.... Ephesians leads Believers into Heavenly Places Eph 6:11-12 directs us to put on the whole armor of God that we may stand in the evil day. Eph leads Believers into Heavenly Places where we are built-up as members of The Body of Christ. Eph 6:10-19 ends with Paul asking Believers to Pray always....

James provides NT answers to the problems and questions Job dealt with. After reading Job, Believers should read James where we are given a short Christian version of how to deal with trouble. James states we are not ignorant of the devil’s devices. We are to draw near to God, resist the devil and he will flee from us. James has nothing more to say about the devil’s activities because all the good and perfect gifts are found in God.
