Trumpets in The Book of Galatians, Acts 15, and Colossians 2

(Read in Ch & Verse the Books of Galatians  and Colossians)

Galatians 2:18-21 refers to the separation between Jew and Gentile while eating at The Table .  Eph 2:14 and Col 2:11-15 state The Middle Wall has been torn down.... Col 2:16-17 then gives permission for Gentiles to eat and celebrate at The Feast of Trumpets. This shows Paul’s concern about The Boundaries shown in the prior Diagram. This boundary concern is one of Trumpets identifiers in The N T....

So we have two things to look for in The New Testament regarding The Day of Trumpets:

1. Calling Elders together for decision making. One Trumpet for the elders.

2. It will relate to The Body of Believers coming together. Two Trumpets for the congregation.

Both of these elements are seen in Acts 15. We know The Feast of Pentecost had been Established  and The Elders and Apostles have gathered together–  to decide how Gentiles are to be added into The Body of Believers in The New Testament. Gentiles have received The Holy Spirit from God and they have given testimony about their Salvation in Jesus Christ. So God has approved them and has become their Spiritual Father. Now The Jewish Leadership must decide how to accept these new converts as Brothers in Christ Jesus....

What do they need to do and what don’t they need to do? After the Council in Jerusalem set out the Acceptance Letter, Paul is left with the responsibility of implementing the decision.... So we see a practical application of The Day of Trumpets. In some ways it follows the same patterns as The Old Testament, but in some ways it is different as well.

When we look at Passover and Pentecost, the same things apply. Some things are similar and some things are different.... 1Cor 12, and Ephesians give us a list of Church Leadership and responsibilities. In 1Corinthians, we see the body is discussed right after the Giftings of The Spirit are listed earlier in Chapter 12.

We can also look at The Day of Atonement which is set forth in The Book of Hebrews as an example. With The Day of Trumpets, we have several other books which give us more clues on what Trumpets means in The New Testament.

First Corinthians deals with The Passover and then directs Believers what God’s Plan is with respect to each of the Set Celebrations. In chapter 12, Paul shows how The Holy Spirit instructs and empowers believers, but in the last half of Chapter 12, Paul shows how The Body of Christ is organized and directed by gifted believers. The Book of Ephesians has a Main Theme dealing with The Membership and Design of The Body.

Colossians chapters 1 and 2 provide information about The Body and gives direct permission for Gentiles to Celebrate The Day of Trumpets, 2:16-17. Paul states that Day deals directly with The Body of Christ at the end of 2:17.  The Book of Ephesians provides most of the detail about The Body of Christ. For details, read the Booklets in The Website....

The Book of Galatians presents an analysis of the circumstances involved with adding Gentile Believers into The Body of Christ. Paul writes about the problems and solutions Gentile Believers faced when they were first added to The Body of Believers. Acts 15 had given Gentiles permission to become believers without being circumcised and several other directions were set forth. Finally it was stated that Gentiles should gather with other believers on every Sabbath Day..... Acts 15:21.

 Trumpets in 1Thessalonians:

The Fall Feasts are all in the 7th Month. When we look at The First Letter Paul wrote to the Church at Thessalonica, we should note the closeness of:

– The Trumpet Call  (The Day of Trumpets) 1Thes 4:16

– The Intimate Fellowship within The Church (The Day of Atonement) 4:9, 5:8

– The Promised Eternal Relationship (The Feast of Tabernacles) 4:17

– The Wrath of God against those who refuse fellowship (The Last Great Day) 5:9
