The Day of Trumpets is mentioned in Leviticus 23:24.

In the OT, Trumpets are used for three main activities. First, to gather the leaders of The Tribes of Israel. Second to announce the gathering of all the people of Israel for moving or for warfare. Third, to announce special Days of Worship such as the Annual Day of Trumpets, etc.

Nehemiah 8 provides a bridge from the OT to the NT concepts of this day. Here The regathered People of God discover The Word of God and begin to understand what God requires of them. Thus we can see two concepts about The Day of Trumpets which we should look for in The NT. First The Holy Spirit gives The People of God some life changing information. Second, This information is discovered by The Leadership and the people are led to understand what to do. This information has been written in God's Word but has not been acted upon by God's People in that generation.

The Books of Acts, Ephesians, Galatians, Colossians and Thessalonians deal with these activities. As we can see from Acts Chapters 1 and 15, and 1 Corinthians 12, The Day of Trumpets and Pentecost are closely related.

Sept 16 2023 is a Weekly SabbathIt is also The Day of Trumpets - An Annual High SabbathAnd it is a Shemita -Yearly Sabbath Rest which is 7 years from The Jubilee Sabbath Year of 2017 (counting inclusively.) 17,18,19,20,21,22,23 is 7 years. 2017 came and went mostly without much fanfare.... 1967 was much more dramatic, with the 6 Day War Liberating Jerusalem.The Day of Trumpets is the First Day of The 7th Month. Like the Day of Pentecost was the First Day of The Week - after 7 weekly Sabbaths. The Day of Trumpets is The First Day of The 7th Month. Pentecost was introduced by a 'rushing wind.' Trumpets is introduced by a shout or 'trumpet blast.' Lev 23Man has lived 6,000 years plus since Adam... And 2,000 years plus since Jesus. 500 years plus since Luther.... Nearly 400 years since The Pilgrims came to America. What time is it??? It is time to proclaim, The Kingdom of God is at hand. Time to shout The Good News. To proclaim liberty and to open blinded eyes. Luk 4:18Jesus said to take His yoke and we would find rest. Mat 11:29 Jesus is The Word made flesh, who tented amongst mankind as God-man. HE came to provide salvation by grace through faith in His finished work as our sacrifice.
