The Day of Atonement dealt with cleansing the Holy Places where daily sacrifices were offered and blood applied to cover (make atonement for) sin....

Also the sins of The High Priest, and the Nation were dealt with. The sins, transgressions, iniquities were dealt with and placed on the scape-goat.  Then washings continued with ashes of The Red Heifer and a Ram was also involved towards the end of the process....

We see in the NT, The Day of Atonement is revealed in 1 John and in Hebrews as a means of intimate fellowship and enabling Believers to come into GOD’s presence through Jesus as our High Priest.  At The Throne of Grace Heb 9 & 10, believers are dealt with in Faith - Heb 11, and discipleship Heb 12....

Thus personal sins are corrected and removal of shame and condemnation per Rom 8.

Atonement in the NT is coming closer to GOD into Heaven’s personal places. Apart from the world and alone with God - Father and Son at the Throne, being dealt with one on one with GOD.... Like the Scape-goat, into the wilderness and led there by The Holy Spirit as the fit man....

Atonement in The NT is seen as Passover NOT The Day of Atonement (in this book)

The trumpeting of GOD’s Message involves The Day of Trumpets just before Atonement....

This often deals with the calling and setting apart of GOD’s Messenger, as with John the Baptist, or The Disciples, etc.

Isaiah, Ezekiel and Amos use Ch 1 to summarize the Book and Message GOD as HE is meeting in The Court to Judge His People. Romans and Hebrews also deals with this concept.

Ephesians reveals The Present condition of Believers but also deals with Trumpets and the Connection with The Spirit in Pentecost.   1:14 relates we have the earnest and the future fullness will come.

Among other things, Ephesians shows the church is like a human body (1:22, 23; 2:16; 3:6; 4:1–16, 25; 5:23, 30) See my commentary on The Book of Ephesians.
