As we look back through History, we see the 7 Churches represent 7 eras from The Old Testament and also 7 eras of Church History. Revelation Chapter 1 reveals Jesus as The Lamb of God in His blood and Power amidst The 7 Churches. Chapter 4 and 5 reveal The Throne in Heaven is a timeless place. All The Redeemed are present there and Jesus is both The Slain Lamb and The Victorious Lion. From Heaven, God shows all Earth’s History taking place on Earth before it happens. John writes it down.
The 7 Seals represent the Fall of Rome. The 7 Trumpets represent The Dark Ages and The Reformation. (For a summary of Revalation as history, please see “Revelation, Seminar” presented by The Seventh Day Adventist Church. They are accurate in their view of history up until about 1850.)
Look at the listing above and you can compare the close of the First Half of Revelation with the introduction of The Last Half…. Remarkable similarities are hidden in plain sight. In the moment of history we are living in, Rev 10 and 11 are key pointers. Rev 10 mentions a “little book” which John is told to eat. This represents The Bible which is translated and printed so lay people can read and understand what God is doing. (see notes from S. Jones, Rev 10)For 500 years, common people have been reading The Bible and praying for understanding.
