Romans 10:9-10 – How To Be Saved

Have Faith in who Jesus is: When you hear the Gospel and believe:

Jesus is LORD – (Creator and Ruler of all things) …. and  HE has been Raised from death by God The Father.

When you hear and believe in your heart, you will confess these truths with your mouth as the result of your being saved.

Another even more simple definition of how to be saved in written:  the Philippian jailer’s question “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” Paul and Silas said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved” (Acts. 16:30–31).

The word of God is preached and The Holy Spirit touches each heart to enable changes to take place. The first change is the entrance of The Holy Spirit into a believer’s heart. This takes place when The Word of God is preached and heard. Believers accept this simple messagel.

Most people will respond in a positive way and confess the two statements above – Jesus is LORD and HE has been raised from death by God The Father.  Some people will resist for a time, but eventually they will submit to God’s will and plan for salvation. The life of resistance and sin is hard and leads to death.

Once The Holy Spirit enters the heart and is acknowledged by confession, everything will change from death to life. Obedience will begin to take place as written in The New Covenant, and believers will begin to live like Christians. Some accept quickly but most need some time in prayer, to allow heart and mind to connect.

Jesus is LORD and He paid the debt of sin for all mankind by being put to death as God’s Passover Lamb. Within three short days, The Holy Spirit returned into Jesus’ dead body and He rose from death. The debt of sin was fully accepted by The Father and your belief is proof that God is at work to save you.

The Plan of God for salvation was first made evident in Creation and then that plan was written down in God’s Word.  Now that your new life has begun, read The Bible and start talking with others about the changes you are being led to live. Believers are joined together and empowered by The Holy Spirit. God is now your Father and Jesus in your Lord. Gather together with other believers and grow together into The Likeness and Image of Jesus Christ.

Study God’s Word and read about The Plan of God for Salvation. Everything will begin to be seen in the light of God’s Word as The Holy Spirit fills you with God’s presence and power. Jesus will begin to lead you into the more perfect life He came to Earth to reveal. All things will begin to work together for your growth and blessing, as you believe and obey by faith in God’s living word.
