4:1-29 Parable of the SowerThis parable seems to be about The Old Testament of God's Word. The Wayside reveals Adam being expelled from The Garden. Satan sowed deception among God's promises. Rocky Ground Indicates Israel in the desert and into. the Promised land - with rocks and hills. They lacked faith and were hard hearted. Thorns indicate Israel serving other gods and in captivity. The Good Ground represents those who brought forth amidst it all. Abraham had Isaac when 100 years old. Isaac bore twins when 60, and Jacob began to bare his 12 sons when he was 30 years old.... These OT stories are in themselves parables of The Mystery of the Kingdom of God.That they may turn and their sins be forgiven.God intends His people to be lights and salt in this world.

4:30-34 Mustard seed. Though Adam and Jesus started alone, God intends for His Kingdom to increase and give shelter to all who take up The Spirit Life.

4:35-41 Jesus calms the storm Jesus and His disciples set sail to cross Galilee but a storm arises as Jesus sleeps in the boat. (Like Jonah in some ways.)  They awoke Him stating, Teacher do You not care we are perishing?  Jesus arose and rebuked the wind, Peace be still.... HE then upbraids His Disciples for their lack of faith.

5:1-20 The Demoniac of Gadera This demon possessed man had great strength, like Samson.... Jesus told the demons to come out of the man. They gave due respect in naming Jesus, Son of The Most High God, and asked to be cast into a herd of swine. Jesus asked the spirit's name. He said legion, indicating there were many demons involved. Jesus gave them permission and the swine ran into the abyss of the sea.The bystanders asked Jesus to depart from them. Jesus told the delivered man to go and be a witness among the citizens there in Decapolis. (Ten Gentile Cities on the east of Galilee.)

5:21-43 Authority over sickness and death Back in Capernaum, a Synagogue Ruler asks Jesus to lay hands on his sick daughter.  On the way, a woman with a flow of blood for 12 years touches His garment. Power flows into her and Jesus stops and asks, Who touched Me? Jesus stated, She was made whole by her faith. By this time the daughter had died, but Jesus asked the Ruler to continue his faith. Jesus laid hands on her and said, Little Girl arise, after HE had put away the unbelievers. There is a period of time after one dies, the spirit might linger near. Jesus termed this as "sleep." Here and with Lazarus....

6:1-6 Jesus returns to Nazareth His neighbors in Nazareth could not think of Jesus as The Messiah, so HE could not do any miracles there. In fact, HE scolded them for their unbelief and they wanted to kill Him. Jesus turned to other villages and continued His ministry.

6:7-13 Jesus sends out the 12 disciples to preach repentance and to work the miracles God enabled them to do as they anointed them. HE sent them out without natural resources to force them to trust God.

6:14-29 John the Baptist is killed. Herod hears of Jesus' ministry after John is dead and wonders how this could be?

The death of John is told in 6:17-29.6:30-56 Jesus' Power Multitudes followed Him. HE taught them and fed them. HE blessed God for increasing the 5 loaves and 2 fish. (John relates this same miracle in his 6th chapter.) Jesus sends them away and retreats to pray.

6:47-52 Jesus walks on The Sea of GalileeHis disciples were rowing against a raging storm. Jesus casually walked up to the boat as the disciples cried out in fear.

6:53-56 Jesus heals manyAs many as touched Him were healed.
